4 Projects to Knock out This Fall

I know that we’ve all been at home​ quite a bit this year and that you’ve probably had plenty of time to work on a few house projects. I wanted to share a few more projects that you can take care of this fall so that you have a more efficient winter.


Replace Your Windows and Front Door

With the relatively warm weather going away, replacing windows and your front door is the perfect fall project. New windows are an excellent investment for multiple reasons. They will drastically improve your curb appeal, and new windows are more likely to make your home more efficient. 

Give Your Home a New Coat Before Winter

If you’ve been holding out on painting your home, fall temperatures are perfect for exterior painting. Plus, it will look beautiful for any holiday guests. 

Check Your Roof

​Fixing your roof is not the most glorious project, but maybe one of the most important ones. Before winter, have your roof inspected and fix any necessary repairs. If you have a small issue, you won’t want it to turn into something much more significant in the middle of winter. 

Add Insulation

Fall is also an excellent time to make sure that your home is well insulated. Upgrading your insulation will keep the heat where it needs to be – in your home! Also, it can make your home more efficient and save you some money on heating costs.

2020 Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off Citywide Celebration

This Labor Day weekend will be like no other. For the first time Colorado Springs will be celebrating it’s traditional balloon lift off with multiple lift off/launch locations throughout the city.

The idea is that you will be able to see the balloon launch from your front porch, avoiding crowds and other large gatherings.

If you are considering buying or selling in the coming months, this is an excellent time to start working towards that goal. Listed below are some ideas you can do while you are at home.

Sellers:

  • Finish up maintenance projects you have been putting off: painting rooms, fixing leaky faucets, chalking around tubs and showers etc.
  • Clean and declutter to prepare for staging: best tip for identifying clutter is take a picture of your room. Things you frequently overlook become more obvious once you take a picture. (You are always welcome to send me the pics as well!)
  • If you are interested in a consult we can video call and I can give you some tips on what to prioritize as you walk through the home.

Buyers:

  • Get your financial information together to get ready to apply for your loan: paystubs, debt payments etc.
  • Finish up filing your taxes. You will need to have the information handy to provide to your lender.
  • Talk to your lender about the best steps regarding your credit and debt to income.
  • Use our online tools on like our website to look at different neighborhoods and help refine what you are looking for.

Powers Blvd Expansion to I25

Phase one of construction is underway for the Powers Blvd expansion. The new exit off of I25 is south of exit 155 and will be just south of the current Bass Pro Shop. This phase will build the interchange and will connect to Voyager and is expected to be completed in 2021 and cost between $55-65 million.

Phase two will connect the next exit to Powers Blvd at Interquest Parkway/Highway 83. Plans for phase two are still being discussed with no firm budget or timeline in place.

Planning officials believe that connecting Powers to I25 will alleviate congestion along Interquest as well as speed up travel while connecting the north south sections of the city. Travel to the airport will be easy as well as east west travel.
